‘When I first learned of the fantastic effort undertaken by the Giving to Pink team, I felt that I had to get involved.

I am very proud to have adopted Giving to Pink as one my Mayoral Charities. Cancer is something that touches us and our loved ones in one way or another throughout our lives. A few years ago I lost a very close aunt of mine to breast cancer and so Giving to Pink’s endeavours are very close to my heart. I have worked closely with the team throughout my Mayoral year to raise funds for a dedicated breast cancer unit at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital and it has been an truly inspirational experience. As our fundraising efforts draw closer to the £250,000 target that we have set, I encourage those who really want to make a difference to people’s lives in the Cwm Taf area to help us in any way that they can. We are almost there. A small amount of fundraising and kind donations from you will help us over the finish line. The people of Cwm Taf deserve access to very best health care treatment. I would like to thank everyone who has organised and helped the Giving to Pink campaign over the past few years. Our activities this year to raise funds for a modern patient-led dedicated breast cancer unit at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital will serve people in our communities for many generations to come. It will stand as a testament to the generosity of all those who have supported the Giving to Pink campaign and the desire to assist those who are affected by cancer’.
